1.  Where can you go for a really good bagel, and how do you like yours?

I don’t really eat bagels much anymore, but I would always prefer a small bagel shop for mine.  My favorite when I can find it is sesame.  I like it toasted with light butter and plain cream cheese.

2.  What is your favorite style of doughnut?

Buttermilk

3.  What’s your favorite flavor of Lifesavers?

All of them in the tropical mix.

4.  What O-shaped breakfast cereals do you like?

Multi-Grain Cheerios and Apple Jacks

5.  How do you feel about onion rings, and where can you get some good ones?

I like them as long as the onions are not too thick.  They are best with lots of salt and ketchup.  And, I like onion straw appetizers with ranch dressing.

Dear Apartment Management :

PLEASE do not turn the water off mid-day as if no one is here.  This morning after a brutal workout with my trainer, I came home to take a shower before going to work only to find the water off in the entire complex.  Now, I understand that in an emergency it might be necessary to do this with no warning – but for a general repair, you need to put a notice on my door and give me some warning.  Please.

Sincerely,

Miffed resident

Seriously, do weather people in the DFW area EVER get the weather right ??  Last night before I went to bed they said that this morning would be a stormy mess as we got the kids off to school and that a cold front was to follow.  It has barely rained at my house [it's not currently raining at all] and it is still 76 degrees out at 12:20p.

So, one of the things I vowed to do when I moved back to Texas was to get out and do stuff.  I have never been to the Kennedy Memorial, I have never been to the Dallas Arboretum, and there are so many other places.  Plus, there is fun stuff to do here that I never do.

House Of Blues

With that in mind, one of the first things I saw and looked into was the HOUSE OF BLUES Gospel Brunch.  I think this sounds awesome.  Basically, it is a brunch held every Sunday at the HOUSE OF BLUES in Dallas and they have a Gospel Choir that entertains during brunch.

I have sent a message out to friends on Facebook and now I am putting it out here on my blog.  If you are interested in going let me know.  I am tentatively thinking maybe, Sunday, November 22nd.

Anything you have always wanted to do in this area and haven’t done ?  Let me know, and we’ll make a day of it.

1.  What does it take to get you to grab the mic and sing in a karaoke room?

I can’t imagine myself ever doing karaoke – I think it would take a hell of a lot of money, and probably the knowledge that I knew NO ONE in the room and would never be back.

2.  What does it take to get you to give up a whole Saturday to hang out with people you don’t like?

If I felt like it was really important to them and that they would never understand me not wanting to hang out with them and I would hurt anyone’s feelings…..I would do it.

3.  What does it take to get you out of bed without your hitting the snooze button?

A pre-scheduled meeting/appointment

4.  What does it take to get you to take someone else’s turn at a really unpleasant task at work or home?

Not much.  I would typically do it when I think they are not expecting it.  I like doing things for people just to be thoughtful.

5.  What does it take to get you to eat something you really dislike?

If I already know I really dislike it, I’m not going to eat it again.  The only possible exception would be if it was something I hadn’t tried in a REALLY long time and I mean a long time, like 30 years or something.

Just as a reminder, I do actually twitter fairly regularly.  These are one or two sentence updates/comments usually posted when I am out and about.  They show up on the right-hand side of my blog where it says “Recent Tweets” – so when you are looking for a current update about what I am doing and you see no new blog post, you might see something new there.  Just FYI.

Also, if you twitter, you can follow me at :  totallytracy

Scrolling thru some of the photos I have taken with my cell phone over the last few months and I came across a couple I thought I would share here since that was the original intent of taking them.

First, this one, taken outside of the Home Depot in Punta Gorda, Florida :

well_tooled

I don’t know about the rest of you ladies, and some of you men, but I am always on the look-out for a well-tooled handyman.

Secondly, about 2 days after I got back to Texas on one of my first outings to WalMart I saw this in the parking lot :

lakewood village

Now, this may not look like much to some.  But, for the last year, I have been living with my parents in Florida and they live in a retirement community that is called Lakewood Village, I just thought it was worth photographing for that reason alone.

I think that is it for now on the pics in my phone…..although I do need to upload one more with a pet snuggie….don’t even get me started…..that I took the other day at WalMart.

Watch for a Friday 5 this week…..and more blogs to come as I try to get back into my routine.

So, here I am.  My cousin not so subtely told me the other night at dinner that he checks my blog every day waiting for an update.  He also gave me the look.  I guess that means I better get back to it.

I think one of the reasons I got off blogging – and let me admit now – it is not a good reason – I was hanging out with my parents and brother in Florida and they were the ones I was used to blogging for.  Now, don’t roll your eyes or say “What am I, chopped liver ?”  No, of course not, all of my readers are equally important which is why I am getting myself back on track.

Let’s start with a WalMart story – including picture.

Last night, I went to WalMart for a little “stuff getting” and as usual, I pick what I think will be a fairly efficient line, knowing that truthfully, I am incapable of picking an efficient line at WalMart.  Well, what do you know, my record is untarnished.  The woman in front of me, as seen below, had brought the ads for three grocery stores and one drug store with her to price match.  She has a full basket and proceeds to pull out each item and then look for it in the ads.

Now, I am an extremely patient person, so I decided to consider this entertainment.  I begin texting my sister about it and she says “Blog it.”  She’s right, so I reply.  “I think I will and let me get a picture.”  I proceed to take TWO pictures, one of which you see here and as you can tell I am VERY close to her – there is no zooming going on here.  She is oblivious.  She is so wrapped up in her ads she does not see me raise my camera phone and take her picture TWICE.

Hilarious.

As I said to my sister last night, it certainly is her right to peruse the ads and do exactly what she did, but I really think there should be a “Price Matching” line at WalMart – kind of like the “Commercial Line” at the bank.  Personally, my time is more valuable to me than what she probably saved.
