- What’s a subject you feel confident in your knowledge of? Most math questions, logic questions. I think I am probably pretty good at current events also.
- What’s a subject you are privately embarrassed not to know more about?
Geography. And, not really privately, I complain about it all the time.
- Who knows you best? Hmmm…..I’m not sure. There are people that know different sides, not sure any ONE person knows me best. I would pick JoLynn, Joey, Courtney, Charles, Tom, Jeffrey and Linda for all knowing enough that if they got together they’d be experts.
- If you could spend a year dedicated full-time to becoming an expert on any topic at all, what would you choose?
U.S. History
- If you were on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, whose names would you submit as your three lifelines, and what subjects would each person be your go-to person for?
How many do you get ? 3 ? I’d probably pick my Uncle Jim, my brother Joey and hmmmm, Alberto I think. I have lots of friends that are experts on certain subjects, so if you are not listed don’t take it personally, but with just 3 to pick , I think this would be the most well-rounded group.

I wore a sequined glove to my high school graduation…..

….I did. I have always been a huge Michael Jackson fan. Thriller came out when I was in high school and I remember watching the video over and over on MTv. I had MJ posters and when the Michael Jackson barbie-like doll came out, I had it sitting on my shelf in my room along with my Tracy Bride doll. I wasn’t in love with him in a romantic way really – I was just in awe with his talent and his presence.
Over the years, he changed. We all did. Yes, he became more unique as he got older. I didn’t understand all of his decisions or his lifestyle. But, my awe of his talent never faltered.
I will probably remember him best like this :
RIP Michael Jackson

- How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning? 3-5 I’d say. It depends on how late I was up the night before, and how early I really need to be up.
- How many cousins do you have? Oh God. I’m sure I should know this…..let me count. 11 first cousins [not counting significant others or their children]. 2 on my mom’s side and 9 on my dad’s. [Tom - correct me on that if I am wrong - mine are yours.]
- How many bones have you broken? ZERO – and let’s keep it that way.
- How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I’m not going to go count – but I’d say around 20.
- How many things that belong in the kitchen are in your bedroom? Ha. I’m sure there is a glass of melted ice water in there. I think that’s it.

Yeah, I am a nerd. Big time. Well, I am a fan. So anyway, back in February, I went to this convention in Orlando called MegCon – it is a SciFi convention basically. I went because, well, I went because I wanted to meet Gareth David-Lloyd who was going to be there signing autographs. I also thought it would be fun to go to the convention because I knew there would be all kinds of people there and people would be dressed up, etc.
Why Gareth David-Lloyd ? Well, he plays a character on my favorite British TV show, Torchwood. It is a spin-off of Doctor Who another British TV favorite. His character’s name is Ianto Jones. I figured this was probably a once in a lifetime chance, since the stars of this show don’t come to the states that often, mainly for the HUGE ComiCon in San Diego each year.
Here is my picture with him [of course I look horrible and he looks awesome] :

Yes, I use twitter. It is a social networking thing where you can just enter like one or two sentences to say what you are doing or a thought or whatever. I have mine set to simultaneously post to my Facebook also. Anyway, I was/am a big fan of the TV show Ugly Betty and more specifically the pairing of characters Henry and Betty. Henry is no longer on the show but was played wonderfully by actor, Christopher Gorham.
Well, lately I have been adding “famous” people to my twitter friends and the other day I added him. I posted this message on my twitter shortly after :
Just added “get a reply tweet from @Chris_Gorham” to my bucket list.
And, about 2 minutes later – he posted this :
Chris_Gorham@totallytracy Check. : )
How fun is that ??

- Do you drink enough water? Probably not. I actually do crave water sometimes and I tend to drink a lot at night if I am going to drink it. But I still probably don’t drink enough.
- Where’s the nearest swimmable body of water? I live in a community with a pool. So it is right down the street, maybe 1/2 a mile.
- When did you learn to swim? Hmmmm…..I remember taking swimming lessons at the YMCA I think. It was when we lived in Chicago. I remember swimming at a community pool, maybe even on the swim team - gasp. I must have been between ages 7-9 when I learned. That’s my best guess.
- How do you feel about rain? I love rain. I especially love cool rain. And, unlike some people I really like lightning. The really loud kind.
- What are your thoughts on bottled water? I drink it more as a convenince than anything else. I am perfectly happy drinking water out of the tap.

What can I say ?
I like ‘em.
My company started doing this thing where there are four team leaders and senior tech reps that rotate one Saturday per month. On your week, you work Saturday and then you get the following Friday off; giving you the 3-day weekend. It’s nice. I mean, by the sixth day of the six day work week I am on my last leg, but knowing the next weekend will be three days gets me through.
So what do I do on these 3-day weekends ?? Well, sometimes we plan a camping trip around them.I used my May one while Courtney was here. I am using my July one while my niece and nephew are here and I might use my August one to come to Texas for apartment looky-loo-ing. Maybe.
If I don’t have some specific plan, then I just enjoy 3 days off.
I just worked last Saturday so I have this Friday off. No plans this weekend. I’ll probably bee-bop around on Friday and supervise Joey power washing the house and maybe the trailer over the weekend. I might get in some fishing or maybe some reading. I should get in some crafting. I haven’t done anything with my bedazzler I got for Christmas.
Hmmm…..what are your plans this weekend ?
June 6, 2009
So, I moved to Florida last July with plans to move back to Texas one year later. That year is fast approaching and I have an update. I moved here to get healthy with the help of my family here. I have changed my eating habits and my movement habits and while I have been here I have lost 115 lbs so far with hopes to lose at least another 35 before I leave and then continue back in Texas.
Well, those plans may be altered slightly. I am coming back to Texas, no doubt. However, at this time, I am looking to move the date forward a little to September. Earlier this year the company I work for laid off a group of employees due to economic times and the credit card industry struggles. And, a couple of weeks ago they laid off another batch. I am overjoyed to have not been in either batch but it does make me a little wary.
On the one hand, I don’t want to go back and get an apartment and a nice little collection of monthly bills only to lose my job. On the other hand, I don’t want to stay here, although it would be financially better if I get laid off, because then if I get laid off and need to look for a job I’ll be here, which isn’t where I would want to look for a job.
So, I do think moving back to Texas is the right thing to do, I just want to give myself a little extra time to save a little money [yes, dad, I said save] and at least get more prepared.
What do you think ??
