Friday Five – Night and Day

Some people are behind in answering the Friday Five [you know who you are, Tom] and you need to catch up.  Here is this weeks installment.

1.  What is your morning routine?

Everyday, I get up, take meds, potty, brush teeth, wash face, get dressed and do something with my hair, probably ponytail.

On school days, put a little makeup on and head out to school.

On work days, no make-up, yay !

On weekends, I probably put makeup on at some point, if I am going out, everything else the same.

2.  What is your nightly routine?

Usually make something to eat for dinner, relax, watch some TV, homework, read, take a shower at some point.  Sometimes, when I need to get out of the house and be around people, I will go up to Buffalo Wild Wings or No Frills Grill for a snack and some trivia.

3.  Do you like to listen to the radio when you sleep or have it quiet?

Quiet.  I don’t watch TV in bed or listen to music.  When I go to bed, it is lights out and sleep.

4.  What do you like to sleep in?

I sleep in cotton short nightgowns, most of the time.  Sometimes a big t-shirt.

5.  What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning?

Snoozing the alarm, but usually I immediately think of what I have to do that day and go ahead and get up.

OK – you know how this works, post these questions to your own blog or webpage and if you don’t have one of those, post your answers here in my comments.  Have a great weekend.

Summer School Week 1

So, for the first summer session at UTA, I am taking one class, Structure of Modern English, which is basically a fancy way of saying, I am diagramming sentences for five and a half weeks.   My class is from 8a – 10a, Monday thru Thursday.  Yes, two hours daily of diagramming fun.  Today was the last class of this first week and Monday we have a TEST !!  Woo hoo !!

Sometime this weekend, I will try to do a scan of a sentence I have diagrammed while I am studying for my test.  It is kind of mathy, so for me, that is good.  There are basically sentence “formulas” and as long as you know them/understand them, it seems pretty easy.

Update after the test next week.

Friday Five – Writing

Another week, another Friday 5.  Now, I normally pull these from the web using Friday 5 websites and blogs.  But, if you have 5 questions you want me to ask/answer – send me an email and I will use your questions one week.  In the meantime, here is this weeks five.

1.  Do you like your handwriting?

Yes.  Funny story, when I was in the 8th grade, I think, I didn’t like my handwriting and I don’t think it was very good.    There was a girl who sat next to me in history and she had that beautiful round handwriting, her name was Tiffany Montgomery.  I made her write the alphabet in upper and lower case on a piece of paper for me and when we had work in class I tried to copy her style when I wrote and practiced it all the time.  From that year on, I have loved my handwriting and think it had a 200% improvement.

2.  Do you prefer to print or write in cursive?

Hmmmm, I typically write in print.

3.  Do you think handwriting should be graded in school?

Yes, there are many professions that would benefit from good handwriting and I think it is an important method of communication.

4.  Do you prefer writing in pencil or pen?

Ohhh, good question.  I actually prefer writing in pencil but rarely do it.  When I am in school, taking classes, I use pencil but day-to-day at work – pen.

5.  When you write in ink, do you prefer a neutral color such as black or blue, or a fun color like purple or green?

Do you know me ?  Any crazy color I can find, as long as it is readable.  But, if I had to choose between black or blue, I would choose black.

OK – you know the drill.  PLEASE copy, paste and answer these in your own blog or answer them here in my comments.   Have a good weekend.
